Sycamore Class Summer 2018! This year is going too fast!
Competition Time! Sycamore have entered some Science Competitions. The first competition involves children interviewing an Engineer. They then have to design an invention that will help someone in some way. The final stage is to write a letter persuading the engineer to make their invention.

Our Topics this term are.... We are currently doing 'Beast Creator'. A bug, a creepy-crawly, a beast! He’ll tickle your skin then go in for the sting!
Arachnids, invertebrates, molluscs and myriapods, hiding in nooks and beneath darkened rocks… Come search for these minibeasts, and let’s sort them out!
But I know an old lady who swallowed a fly. I don’t know why she swallowed a fly… perhaps she’ll die?

You’ve got your map, co-ordinates and everything else you need to make your way across Alchemy Island. Don’t forget to pack your imagination!

INFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW
Please bring your PE kit into school on Mondays and leave it in school all week. Children will need school PE kit which consists of plain black shorts and a yellow t-shirt for indoor PE, plain black or blue tracksuit trousers, t-shirt, a plain black or blue jumper, and trainers for outdoor games. NO jewellery can be worn for PE.
After School Activities Please encourage your child to take part in an after school activity. There are lots of activities on offer and they benefit your child in lots of ways.
Dates for your diary.... PE – Tuesdays and Fridays Homework Club – Thursday 3:15 – 4:15
Homework It is school policy to give weekly homework to all children.
On a Thursday, your child will be given Maths and English homework.
They will also be given times tables and spellings to learn on a regular basis and their knowledge and speed will be tested.
Children should be reading their reading books at home on a daily basis. Please try to hear your child read every day. Please make sure your child brings their book in everyday.
Please could you ensure that your child completes their homework over the weekend. Completed work is due in by Tuesday morning,
